Mcleodganj: When it comes to tourism in Himachal Pradesh, McLoadganj is the most popular place among trekkers. It is also popular for being home to the famous Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama, with many attractive tourist spots in McLeodganj. McLeodganj has the most breathtaking landscape in the entire Himachal Pradesh and attracts tourists throughout the year. The cities of Dharamshala, McLoadganj, Bhagsu Nag, and Kangra are located very close to each other and tourists should cover all these places while traveling to India. Some of the most famous and religiously significant monasteries in India are located there, including the Namgyal Monastery and the Tsuglakhang, where the spiritual leader the Dalai Lama resides.
Bhagsunagg Waterfall: At a distance of 3 km from McLeod Ganj and 7 km from Dharamshala, Bhagsunag Falls, also known as Bhagsu Falls, is a beautiful waterfall situated in Bhagsu village behind Bhagsunath Temple near McLeod Ganj in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. During the monsoon, this waterfall becomes beautiful with a mountain, which has slate frescoes. This region is covered with snowfall during winter. Tourists like to swim in cold water which gives a pleasant and refreshing experience. Trekking is also a good and more enjoyable option here.
Bhagsu village is a popular picnic spot and there is also the famous Bhagsunath temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is a famous tourist attraction and is also an important place for Hindu pilgrims. Some hard work is required to reach this waterfall as visitors have to climb halfway up the hill to reach the waterfall. There is a nice cafeteria next to the falls and the area serves as an excellent picnic spot for tourists. Bhagsunag Waterfall is about 3 km from McLodganj and is best visited by trek, although one can walk to Bhagsu village and trek for about 1 km to reach the falls.
St. John’s Church: St. John’s Church, situated in the dense forests between Forsathaganj and McLeodganj Dharamshala, is one of the most preferred tourist destinations in Himachal Pradesh; Not just because it has an interesting history in its background, but also because the place is about beauty and the forest. That is why it is called St. John in the forest.
The amazing church, dedicated to Baptist St. John, is just 8 km from the main town of Dharamshala. The Kangra valley, enchanted with the beautiful architecture of the church and the greenery surrounding it, enchants tourists. Just next to the church is a cemetery built to bury British residents who died in the 1905 Kangra Valley earthquake.
Dal Lake Naddi: The beautiful Dal Lake is situated at an altitude of 1,775 meters and is one of the popular sightseeing places of McLeodganj. The lush green lake is home to various species of fish. It is the best base camp for trekkers in Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj. It is situated on a hilltop and offers a panoramic view of the Kangra valley and the Dhauladhar ranges. This oval-shaped lake is surrounded by cedar trees and is considered a sacred place as it has a small Shiva temple on its banks. According to the legend, sage Durvasa prayed to Lord Shiva here. Every year in the month of September, a large number of Lord Shiva devotees visit the Dal Lake to participate in the famous festival celebrated in the Lord Shiva temple.

The town of Dharamshala is best known internationally as the home of the Dalai Lama of Tibet.
